Rio Tinto Diavik Legacy Contribution

Rio Tinto’s Diavik Diamond Mine partnered with the Yellowknife Community Foundation to establish the Rio Tinto Diavik Legacy Contribution in 2024, a keystone in the company’s efforts to leave a responsible and meaningful legacy in the North as they move towards closure in 2026.  

For decades, Diavik has been dedicated to strengthening Northern communities – a commitment they’ve demonstrated through grants and contributions supporting hundreds of programs and projects, even before they began producing diamonds.  

The Northern Legacy Fund is a major chapter in Diavik’s story; one that will go a long way towards ensuring a lasting, positive impact for Northern residents.
